What is a Filipino? A Filipino of course is a person who's pure, joyful, humble, hospitable, courteous, loving, patriotic, religious and most of all, unique.

- Filipinos are joyful -Filipinos are well-known for being one of the most cheerful people in the world and I'm thrilled to be a part of the mix. One of the most popular traits that a Filipino could pick-up on a daily basis is how they are always smiling. It is proven that we are so full of life because of the festivities we have and even in pure chaos, we find a way to smile at the world. Filipinos have mastered the power of joy.
- We have a rich history -From the dawn of time, we were developing our own name, language and history. Our history should be in the record books because colonialists have lingered here for centuries, we've freed our country, set out landmarks across the nation, and our history is just one of them. In our past, every little scene and every little detail is so fascinating and so exciting that you can't help but feel euphoric. I'm very much in awe that I can be a piece of history that will still be here until the end of civilization.
- God-fearing and Religious -When the Spaniards came in the country, one of the numbered things that have brought prosperity into the land is Christianity. From generations to generations, we're always taught to love God above anything else and to always have the right values and morals. Going to church and surrendering yourself before Him are only a summary of what the lessons I've learned from my family and from the people around me. The festivals we hold in the country are dedicated to the patron saints, angels and to God, for good fortune, gratitude or even repentance. We prominently show our belief and faith in Him.
- Nature and its Fruits -There's no doubt that our country is gifted with an abundance of poly-chromatic views, clear waters, white-sanded beaches, and a thriving ecosystem. People from all around the globe come here to bask in the ambiance of Mother Nature herself. We're pretty lucky because we don't have to travel half of the globe to get to this place, because it's just around the corner. Some are even featured as one of the natural treasures of the world. It brings our people great pride and glee to have those prestigious titles handed out to us. Let us just work together to preserve these gifts.
- Talented and Gifted -We have always been a talented group of people; in music, arts, literature, music, films, sports and a lot more. We've hooked gold medals and trophies for a long time now and have held titles that could not be beaten by anybody else. We take pride in what we produce for the past centuries. I believe that champions came from a fortifying environment, and it's no wonder that we have champions known all around the globe. We have taken our culture to the next level, as well as our name.
6. Patriotic and Just -We have always showed our love and admiration for the country. We sing our national anthem with fervor, have built national museums all around the nation and have given emphasis about patriotism. We don't hide our pride in our country and that's a trait that is so endearing. We care for the people in the country, we help each other out in their times of need and downfall. We are very vocal with our opinions bout politics, economy and about anything really. We want what we think is best for the people, and that for me is a real good reason to which why I love being a Filipino.
7. Hospitable and Courteous -Hospitality has been deeply recognized here in the Philippines. We welcome foreigners with warm smiles and a hospitable welcome. Whenever I watch an interview from an international artist, influencing world leaders and many more, they always say that the Philippines is home for the hospitable. It's heart-warming to know that we are known for our values and manners. That's why the Philippines has been a primary home to some foreigners, because we treat them like one of us.
8.Preserving Family Traditions -I love it when family traditions are passed on from generation unto generation to keep the flame alive. In my family we have a lot of family traditions that were passed on from my forefathers and ancestors back in the days and they taught to us. We are family-oriented and we think of our family first. It's a very good lesson to know, because you can always count on your family. A lot of Filipino families rely on each other and have adopted one another. In this country, we're all a part of one big family.
9.Language and Works -Our language is so unique and fascinating. From the mix of Spanish, Chinese and other languages, we've created our own, it's called 'Filipino'. If you're from the country, of course you will learn to love it and will continue to love it. It's easy to learn and difficult to understand as well, nevertheless our language is still the language of many. In some provinces, they have their own language and that they speak. We've also produced many written-works that are inspiring and has a lot of morals that you could pick-up on. It shows our love for the language and how our intellects are connected. Language is our key to communication and it's one of the reasons why I'm in love with the Philippine language.
10. The Country, Flag and The People -Of course, I've saved the best for last. The biggest reason why I love being a Filipino is the country, the flag and the people. I can't love my nationality, if I can't love my country. I have a natural connection with the people around me and the flag. This country, is my home, the people are my family and the flag is my light. What more needs to be said?
